Gilt Groupe Takes On Babies

On Tuesday, April 6th at noon the Gilt Groupe will be unveiling a limited time lineup of upscale baby products available at discounted prices. For those of you who are unsure of Gilt.com, it is a member’s only, limited time flash sale site with new, rotating merchandise. The sales open at noon on a given day, and are open for 3 days before the sale closes.

It’s March, and soon the last of the snow will melt and the flowers will begin to bloom. The weather is warming and to some of us, that means only one thing – its time to think about bathing suit season again. That dreaded prospect is only increased by that last bit of baby weight we can’t lose, or the bulge that we can’t seem to rid while we chase after curious toddlers and crawling babies. Supermodel Heidi Klum Unveils Clothing Line

Who better to design a maternity clothing line than supermodel and mother of four, Heidi Klum? Klum is designing maternity lines for A Pea in the Pod and Motherhood maternity. The clothing line for A Pea and the Pod will be called Lavish, and for Motherhood Maternity, the collection will be called Loved. Heidi elaborated on the lines by explaining:

“I chose to call my collection for A Pea in the Pod Lavish because there is no grander name to express everything you want to give yourself and the child growing within you. For Motherhood Maternity, Loved is a celebration of new life and the love around you and your baby. I experienced fashion challenges during my four pregnancies and combined my knowledge of what works in terms of style, comfort and practicality to create these lines. They are all about making you feel beautiful; being pregnant shouldn’t stop you from being fashionable and feeling great about your changing body. It’s an exciting journey.”

Nicole Richie Introduces Maternity Line

Currently in the second trimester of her second child, actress and fashionista Nicole Richie has teamed up with maternity fashion retailer A Pea in the Pod to the world of maternity wear. Richie was inspired by life with her 19 month old daughter Harlow and boyfriend Joel Madden to design the new collection. This new line comes in addition to her other label, House of Harlow 1960 whose name is obviously derived from her daughter.

Launched recently, Richie stated, “Pea in the Pod is such a known company for pregnant women. They carry great lines, and so when they asked me to create a line for them, I was really excited and eager to do it.”

She also added, “…you really feel like you have to change your whole wardrobe (when you’re pregnant). And that’s the last thing a woman wants to go through. So I really tried to make this line to get women excited about wearing clothes. I think the pregnant body is beautiful, and I think you should show it off.”

Despite everything going on in her life, Richie has yet to slow down. In an interview with People.com she stated, “I have my second collection of House of Harlow 1960 coming out in November, and my regular clothing line coming out in Spring 2010 along with my shoe line.”

Tori Spelling Launches Baby Clothing Line

In what seems to be a Hollywood trend first with Nicole Richie, actress Tori Spelling has become the latest celebrity to launch a children’s clothing line. Her new line, Little Maven, can be found online at Amazon or at Bloomingdale’s. The new brand will offer clothes for children up to the age of four ranging from $26 to $88. The Little Maven line focuses on style and comfort as well as bright colors that gravitate to young children. Spelling and her own daughter Stella, who helps give her design inspiration, were signing autographs and meeting fans. She also has a two year old son, Liam.
