Baby Monitor Rechargeable Battery Recall

Summer Infant has announced a voluntary approximately 58,000 rechargeable batteries in video baby monitors due to burn hazard. the battery in the handheld video monitor can overheat and rupture and burn consumers. Summer Infant has received 5 reports of ruptured batteries, which includes 3 incidents of property damage.

This recall involves Summer Infant Slim and Secure handheld color video monitors with unmarked, MP and BK rechargeable batteries. The monitor was sold in silver and white, model #02800 and pink and white, model #02805. The monitors were sold exclusively at Babies R Us between September 2009 and May 2010 for about $200.

If you have the recalled monitor, you should immediately discontinue use and contact Summer Infant between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday at (800) 426-8627, or visit the firm’s website at www.summerinfant.com to receive a postage paid envelope to return the defective battery in exchange for a free replacement battery. The monitor can be used with the AC power cord.

Alanis Morissette and husband Mario “Souleye” Treadway have shared the first picture of their baby Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway! What a beautiful, natural picture of the happy family!

The baby was born on Christmas day in 2010 and the couple were married in May 2010.

22,000 Jogging Strollers Recalled

phil&teds USA, Inc. has announced a voluntary recall of approximately 22,000 jogging strollers in the United States and 7,200 jogging strollers in Canada. When folding and unfolding the stroller, a person’s finger can get caught in the mechanism, posing an amputation hazard.

The recall includes sport v2 and classic v1 model single-seat jogging strollers. These are 3-wheel strollers that have a metal frame, cloth seat, and canopy. The sport v2 model was sole in red, orange, green, black, charcoal, navy, and graffiti print with serial numbers of 0308/0001 to 0510/0840. The classic v1 model was sold in red with serial numbers of 0308/0001 to 0510/0906.

The strollers were sold in specialty juvenile stores nationwide from May 2008 through July 2010 for $350-$450.

37,000 Sassy Infant Teethers Recalled

Sassy, Inc. has announced a voluntary recall of approximately 37,000 Refreshing Rings Infant Teethers/Rattles because small pieces of the plastic ball can detach and pose an ingestion hazard.

The product has a red, water-filled ring on one end and a black and white polka dot ball on the other end. The ends are connected by a black and white plastic rod with three floating rings. The style number 80026 is printed on the package.

The teethers were sold at mass merchandise and baby specialty stores nationwide from July 2009 through January 2011 for $5.

Publix Recalls Tiramisu Ice Cream

Publix Super Markets has announced a voluntary recall of its Premium Light Tiramisu Ice Cream. The Tiramisu ice cream container may contain Publix Premium Coffee Almond Fudge Light Ice Cream instead, which would lead to undeclared almonds.

The item affected is the Publix Premium Light Tiramisu Ice Cream with UPC 41415-13343 and lotcode Sep 12 2011 B7 PLT 12-444 on the bottom of the carton. The products were sold in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
