Christmas Cheer With the Family
It’s the most wonderful time of the year. The halls are decked, the packages wrapped and the trees adorned with keepsake ornaments. There is so much to do this time of year. Your community is a wealth of information and provides many activities for you and your family during this holiday season. Want to sing Christmas Carols, sit on Santa’s lap, or experience fake snow in a warm weathered state? You can! Hit up your mall, outdoor shopping area or town center.
A quick five minute drive and we’re at a gorgeous outdoor mall, The Shoppes. It smells fancy,
the outdoor music is cheery and the grass perfectly manicured. The outdoor amphitheater area hosts everything from technicolor light shows to magicians. Hit it up on a Wednesday morning and it’s all about the kids. From Thanksgiving through the New Year The Shoppes put on a fascinating light and music show every hour starting at 6pm. It lasts about twenty minutes, and from the moment the first light lit up the dark night sky we were mesmerized. The brightly lit tree keeps beat with the music and spotlights of snowflakes dance on the adjacent store fronts. The music is sing songy and you can’t help but tap your foot and sing along.
Stay tuned as I discover some more fun family friendly activities to enjoy this time of year. What are some of your family favorites? Do you have a yearly tradition? Do you partake in the free family fun within your community? Please share with us!
