Week 25
Baby is now 9 inches in length. Equally exiting, baby’s lungs are beginning to mature, although they still have a long way to go. Its nostrils are starting to open up so that your baby can take “practice breaths.” Your little one has functioning vocal cords now too, so you might feel a hiccup or two!

Finally – some baby fat. All that wrinkled skin is beginning to fill out, although not quite done yet. This week a little bit of pigmentation is beginning to show on his hair, and you’ll be able to tell soon if you have a blonde, brunette or redhead on your hands. Weighing a pound and a half, and measuring about a foot or so long, your baby is growing pretty fast. Most of her internal structures are in place and are functioning pretty well, but still developing and will continue until her birth.

You probably feel like you waddle everywhere now, and your center of gravity is incredibly different from even just a month ago. Unless otherwise instructed by your physician, its important to keep moving around and exercising, although you need to follow new guidelines and take it slower than you may be used to. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids to keep you and your growing baby healthy and hydrated. You can definitely feel that little baby moving all over, and will probably learn some of her routines, like when she likes to rest or when she likes to squirm.
