Maternity Clothes After Birth – Your Options

I wanted to talk to you today about what you can do with your maternity clothes after you’ve had your baby. There are a lot of options. First and foremost, if you think you’re going to have any more children of course you’re going to want to hang onto them. Maybe loan them to a friend, but take note of the special pieces you’d like to get back. If there’s anything that you found that you didn’t wear a lot or is totally seasonal, you might want to keep in mind that subsequent children may not come in the exact same season. It may not makes sense to hang onto stuff that maybe you didn’t love and is potentially the wrong season. If you’re delivering in February versus delivering in August you’re going to need completely different clothing. Just something to keep in mind as you’re loaning stuff our to friends and considering how much space you have to store stuff, you can let some things go. Definitely hang onto the basics.

Of course, if you’re finished having kids and you know that you’re ready to release all this stuff and take back that space back in your closet, or your basement, or where ever you’ve been storing these things, you probably just want to burn them because you’re so excited to be done with it. But, some other great options are to pass onto friends, and of course you can donate your clothing. There are also now some great options to sell clothing online. As we all know, we make huge investments in this wardrobe of clothing and it would really be a shame to not get some of that back if you can. There are a ton of online resources for resealling and swapping maternity clothing. Even if you’re not swapping towards more maternity clothing you can swap towards the baby goods that you need now.

Finally, the key is to really think ahead. Realize that you don’t have to hang onto everything. That is what I did, time and time again. In the long run I had probably a good six boxes of maternity wear which some very thankful person was happy to receive. In the end though, it certainly wasn’t necessary to hold onto it all. I hope this information was helpful to you. If you have any other thoughts on maternity clothing, feel free to ask.
