Dangers of Babies’ Lack of Sleep

Sleeping BabyWe all know it’s tough to get some babies to sleep 10 hours per night, but a new study shows that babies under the age of 5 getting less than 10 hours of sleep per night are more likely to be overweight 5 years later.

The Centers for Disease Control recommend that 1-year-old children should be getting between 13-15 hours of sleep per day and children aged 3-5 need between 11-13 hours of sleep.

The study suggests that children who don’t get the recommended amount of sleep are more sluggish during the day, which will lead to less physical activity and more snacking at night.
