What To Do When You Can’t Find A Sitter
if (is_single()) { ?>
} ?>I can’t tell you how many times people have to cancel plans because they can’t find a babysitter for their children. Although not having a sitter can be a great excuse for getting out of plans you don’t want to keep, but more often than not this is not the case. Here are few ways to save on babysitting.
- If you can, spend time with your friends during lunch. This is great because many of your peers will most likely be in the same situation. With the kids at school or camp, this is a great opportunity to make best of your free time.
- Offer to trade babysitting duties with others. Whether its your friends or neighbors, if you know of other parents who have kids, offer to help one another out. More often than not, someone will be willing to work something out.
- Call on friends and relatives. While living close to family can sometimes be annoying, it can also be your greatest savior. If you live near family make the best of the situation and take advantage of the opportunity.
- Check into community babysitting services. Some churches offer free or low cost babysitting. Activities are often planned and supervised by adults while the youth of the church play with your kids. Some churches may offer a night of free babysitting as a service to the community.
- Join a babysitting co-op. Some co-ops are very organized and they have systems with points where you can earn points per hour, per child, etc. It sounds a little complicated, but these parents have found a system that works for them.
- Look for a baby sitting service or better yet find a baby “speed dating” service. Here you’ll have the opportunity to interview many different babysitters in a short amount of time to find the best one that is for you.
