Fisher Price Rainforest Vs. Precious Planet

Two of the most popular jumpers on the market are the Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo and the Fisher Price Precious Planet Jumperoo. Many of you have asked, is there any difference between the two besides the “theme”? We’re here to break it down for you and tell you about both.

First and foremost is safety. Both jumperoos are much safer than a jumper that hangs from the doors. Jumper systems that hang from doors are much more likely to result in injuries because your baby could slam into the door, or worse yet, could injure a limb by slamming it in the door or on the door knob. Free standing jumpers, like the jumperoos, are a much safer route to go. Plus, both jumperoos cover any rougher edges with soft fabric, so your child can play without worry!

Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo
rainforest-jumperooThe Rainforest Jumperoo provides toys all around, including an elephant, swinging monkey, spinning lizard, and parrot hanging from a bead bar, a bead ball, and a tiger that plays hide and seek. All of the toys feature different colors and fabrics so that your baby will love to interact with all of them. This Jumperoo also features a the tethered chew toy. Two soft leaves extend from an overhead canopy for added fun. The Rainforest model has a seat that rotates 360 degrees so that your baby is entertained for longer. It also features three height adjustments so the Jumperoo grows with your baby.

The Jumperoo has a motion sensor, which teaches your tot about cause an effect – your child’s movement activates the lights and sounds. An electronic toy at the front activates motion, music and lights.

The frame of the Rainforest Jumperoo can be pivoted into a nesting position so it can be tucked away when not in use. The weight capacity for this Jumperoo is 25 pounds. Notably, you will need 3 AA batteries to operate it.

Fisher Price Precious Planet Jumperoo

Like the Rainforest, it also features a soft, spinning seat that rotates 360 degrees. It also features 3 height adjustments. Of course, the Precious Planet Jumperoo also has the music and lights, which can be activated by your baby’s bouncing. This Jumperoo also holds up to 25 pounds and requires 3 AA batteries.

The main difference between the Precious Planet Jumperoo and the Rainforest Jumperoo? The toys! The Precious Planet Jumperoo comes with toys in a variety of colors and textures, just like the Rainforest model, but these toys are “Precious Planet” themed. They include a cheery lion and a spinning color wheel, as well as a plush banana and a cute rubber hippo.

The Bottom Line
Like all of the different baby products in Fisher Price’s Rainforest and Precious Planet lines, the jumperoos are very similar but have different “themes.” Both Jumperoos are equally excellent and get rave reviews from parents. Babies seem to love it. The prices are within a few dollars of each other. So ultimately your decision really only rests on which toys you’d prefer, but your tiny tot will be sure to jump for joy with either!
