Your baby will have a whale of a time in the Fischer Price Precious Planet Whale of a Tub. The tub is shaped just like a whale, and it comes with a baby whale cup for playing and washing baby. Besides being super cute, the tub is very functional. It fits over double sinks or in traditional bath tubs. The back of the tub has a soft, non-slip foam surface so your baby will stay in place. Speaking of staying in place, the tub also comes with a removeable “baby stopper.” Just snap the stopper into the tub, and your infant will be able to stay right in place. Once your baby gets a little older, simply remove the stopper, which will allow for more room to play and splash. (Of course, you should NEVER leave your infant or toddler alone in any tub).
The tub comes with side grip handles for easy moving. Better yet, it comes with a drain plug. For infant use, the tub can be used from birth up to six months, until your baby reaches 20 pounds. For toddler use, the tub can be used when your child is six months or older, up to 25 pounds. The tub is big enough for a toddler to have room to play, but small enough for you to be able to store in a closet when you aren’t using it.
Sounds too good to be true? There are a couple of drawbacks to this tub. First, if you prefer an infant “hammock” please note that this tub doesn’t come with one. Second, this tub does not come with a built in caddy, so if you like to keep your soap and shampoo with the tub, you’re out of luck. Finally, there are some tubs out there with non-slip foam on both ends of the tub – this one just comes with it on one end. All in all, however, this tub is a great deal and works very well.
