This swing is fantastic because not only does it provide the traditional forward and backward swing motion, it also has a side to side motion like a cradle. It’s great to have both in one. The cradle is very soothing for your baby. The swing is modeled after the Papasan chairs for adults. It is a little more expensive than some other swings on the market, but there are a lot of reasons to pick this swing over the others.
First, unlike some other swings, the motor isn’t going to burn out on you after a couple of months. The motor is also extremely quiet and has six speeds.
The seat seems to be extremely comfortable. It is very well padded and has a pillow so your baby’s head will not roll around. Yet at the same time, there is plenty of room to spread out to fall asleep. The chair can be set for swing or cradle motions. The seat lining is also machine washable. The entire swing also folds fairly easily for storage.
The mobile is adorable – it features different little stuffed animals depending on the “theme” that you buy. Themes include My Little Lamb as featured in this review, Nature’s Touch, Butterfly Garden, Nature’s Wonder, and Starlight. All feature a cute toy bar. And if all that isn’t enough, the icing on the cake is that there is a volume control dial for the music! Moreover, the music has very soothing songs and peaceful nature sounds.
There are a couple of very minor gripes with this product. The tray toys are a little bit lame – the toys don’t rattle or make too much noise so your baby may lose interest in them. The other thing to mention – the mobile and music shut off automatically after seven minutes. Finally, it only runs on batteries, so if you are looking for a swing for use with an a/c adapter, this swing is not for you.
Besides those minor gripes, we seriously think you would be hard pressed to find a better cradle swing. If you have a little one who loves to be held all the time, this swing may be a great option for you to consider.
